Rtn. Mir Arif Ali was born on 27th July 1955 in Karachi, Pakistan. He studied at the Aitchison College Lahore, Government College Lahore and later studied at the London College of Printing in The United Kingdom. He has won school and college colors for Riding and Swimming. He is a Businessman and is the Managing Director and Proprietor of several companies dealing in Printing, Textile Trading in Pakistan, UK and the USA.
People are born with either Golden or Silver spoon in their mouth but he was born with a Rotary spoon in his mouth as his journey in the Rotary family spans over a period of 36 years. He was introduced to Rotary by his late father PDG Mir Wajid Ali (1974-75) and his mother PNR. Of the Inner Wheel Pakistan Mrs.Sartaj Wajid Ali. In 1979 he became the Charter Secretary of the Rotary Club of Lahore Model Town District 327". He served as Secretary for two terms and became President of the Club in 1982-83 and 1996-97, and became Assistant Governor in 2000-2001 and has now been elected District Governor 2016-17. As President & Secretary of the Club he has won numerous awards for the Club and himself at Club and District Level including the R.I. Significant Achievement Award for the Blood Donation Project (1979) and for holding the First International RYLA Conference (1996-97). He was appointed by RI as the Councilor at the First International RYLA Convention 2001 San Antonio, USA, and also as facilitator of the focus on RYLA and Membership Rotary International Convention 2002, Barcelona, Spain
He has attended 28 District Conferences in Pakistan and abroad. He has attended 5 R.I. Conventions, Regional Conferences & Institutes and addressed numerous Rotary Club at home and abroad. He as 100% attendance to his credit for the last several years. He as President in 1996-97 inducted 224 members in the Rotary family in 9 months. He received the Outstanding President Award during this year as President of his club. As a Club Chairman for Polio survivors Brace Aid Project he once again for his club won the R.I. Significant Achievement Award for the "Polio Survivors Brace Aid Project" (2012-13). In February 2014 as District Co-Chair Recreation & Sports organized the "First Rotary Sports Festival 2014", where 400 special children participated along with 500 Rotarians and their families which was a great success. R.I. President Ron Burton recognized DGN. Rtn. Mir Arif Ali by presenting a special Pin at the R.I. Convention in Sydney Australia for introducing new members in his club during the year 2013-14. He has contributed US $26000/- in one go towards the Rotary Foundation and became a Paul Harris Fellow and a Major Donor Level-2 in 2007.
